Happy 5th!

One of my dear "Mommy-friends" threw her only daughter her 5th birthday party!!! 5!!!! I don't know how it happened or seriously...where the time went!! Anyhoo - it was a fun and romping kids gym party with lots of tumbling, dancing, zip lining, pizza and beautiful and delicious cake!!

I loved how the pictures came out and was inspired to do an accordion album with them. I had LONG ago ordered the pre-cut inserts along with the tins at Oriental Trading Company. It was SUCH a fun project and I can't wait to do another one!!! The impression these make when you give them as a gift is priceless...truly. I purposefully distressed a lot of the edges, photos, embellishments and really adhered things much more securely than I would if it was going to sit on a coffee table somewhere so that when the birthday girl gets her hands on it I don't want her to worry about it breaking or something falling off of it. Word has it...she was groovy on it ;)

Happy darling RTM!!! I hope you enjoy your album!!!

My friend Lisa recently had a party. I have become what everyone calls "Annie"...as in Annie Leibovitz. I literally take at LEAST 300 pictures per event. Even if it's just an outing or a playgroup but especially if it's a party!

So I took this adorable series of their beautiful little girl and knew EXACTLY what I was going to do with them once I saw them printed out!!!

I did this last night using the same summery papers that I used for my last project that I posted. I was so happy to deliver this to my friend this morning!!!

I had a hard time getting good shots whether it was in the frame or out but I think you can get the idea. The light today just wasn't cooperating.

I hope everyone is enjoying the rain!!! I know I am!!!

I love summer inspired papers!!! In years past I've never been a HUGE fan of summer but now that I'm a SAHM I LOVE it!!! That is because I get to be outside enjoying it!!

Today we're headed to the house of both of my kids schoolmates for a swim playdate!! They are so excited that they can barely contain themselves!!

This notebook and matching pen is a little hostess gift for the Mom who was kind enough to invite us.

I hope that you are all enjoying this BEAUTIFUL day!!!

Ciao...

Here Comes The Bride...

A darling friend of mine is heading to a wedding soon and she asked me to make up a simple and elegant yet artsy card. This was one of those that I woke up and started on at 6 am on Saturday morning because it was in my head and if I let myself go back to sleep it never would have made it to fruition. I used many different sources of paper, heat setting the sentiment from PTI's set MEGA MESSAGES (which is SUCH a 'go to' for me now) as well as my copics to color in the sweet little birds and flowers.

I really love the 'collage' feel that came out of this without it being too fussy.

I hope everyone had a fantastic 4th of July weekend!!

XOXO

Dear Friend...

My dear friend Nikki asked me to make a card for a very near and dear friend for her birthday! I dropped it off today, despite the pouring rain!!! It was all wrapped up in plastic, nice and safe.

I chose to do a 4 x 4 card as it is just a GREAT size and I recently bought envelopes that fit perfectly. There's just something slightly off when you use an envelope that isn't the proper size for the card. Sometimes it's a must do but I like to see if I can find a fit.

Anyway - I was inspired to zip through my scrap drawer...that has now spilled over into a scrap box, a scrap binder, scrap Zip-Lock bags in addition to my existing scrap drawer...YIKES! Anyway - I used mostly scrap for this project and I LOVE LOVE how it came out and how well the colors compliment each other.

My sewing machine is back to life so I used this opportunity to put lots of stitching all over the card. I just love the touch that sewing lends to the finished product.

I complimented the stitching with some self adhering red pearls just to add a little bit of whimsy to the card.

I hope that everyone has a fantastic weekend...RAIN OR SHINE!!

XOXO!
