MFT - Guest Designer Challenge - Embellish Me!

It's that time again!!  Time for the MFT Guest Designer Monthly Challenge!  This month Jody and Joanne have challenged us to "Embellish Me".  I chose to embellish my six year old darling daughter!  It was beyond fun!  I made the following:

  • Rolled Flower Die-namics Inspired Pure Innocence Bottle Cap Headband
  • Double Sided Pure Innocence Locket with Daisy Die-Namics Clasp
  • Set of Six Embellished Backpack Pins
I'll start with the headband:
Bottlecap jewelry is SUPER hot right now. I started by making rolled felt flowers by hand (inspired by the MFT Die-namics). I purchased a plain headband at my LSS and wrapped a luscious red, satin ribbon around it followed by wrapping it in MFT Baker's Twine. I added grey felt to the interior so that it would slide on my daughter's head easily. I pulled up my PI digis in MS word and sized them perfectly to fit inside the bottlecaps. I colored them with my Copics (which runs slightly when coated with Glaze) punched them out and adhered them to the interior of my bottlecaps. I then coated with my PI images with Glaze. I set them to dry overnight. I then nestled them all snug in my flowers and hot glued the flowers onto the headband! Sooooo much fun and my daughter has not stopped wearing it!!
My second creation for my DD is this sweet double sided locket finished with a MFT Rolled Daisy Die-namic clasp:

I found the locket in the jewelry section of my LSS. The interior measures 1.25". I started with the interior of the locket. I used PI Birthday Princess and Emma Blowing Kisses. Both images stamped and colored with my Copics. Trimmed out and added to the locket interior. I then used 6 pieces of sheer hot pink ribbon (my DD's favorite color at the moment) as the hanger for the locket. I didn't want a tie as I wanted her to be able to easily get it on and off her neck so I used my MFT Chocolate Felt and my Rolled Daisy Die-namic, 2 velcro dots and their matching counter parts, 2 buttons and some MFT twine threaded through the buttons to make an easy to open clasp for her. She is in HEAVEN!

My last creations are a set of six backpack pins for my daughter to keep or give to her friends.  We went out shopping today and she wore all six of them on her shirt at once!  SO CUTE!  I've used the following MFT sets:
  • PI - Being Cute Is What I Do
  • PI - Meet Emma and Wyatt
  • PI - Lather, Rinse and Repeat
  • PI - Better Get Better
  • PI - Ladybug
  • Flapper Doodles - Hug Me Tight
These pins measure at 1.25" each. I found a six pack of the pins at my LSS for $1. I punched 1.25" circles out of fun DP scraps, Mod Podged them, ran them through my Xyron and adhered them securely to my pins along with their embellishments.

The following MFT Die-namics were used:
  • Notched Tag
  • Pinwheel
I'm sorry for the relatively brief descriptions but I'm SURE you'd get sick of me going on and on and on about all the embellishments and steps for these creations!  Please feel free to leave any questions in the comments section and I'd be happy to answer you!!

If you'd like to come play along please do so here!!

Thanks for looking!!

Tiddly Inks - Fabulous Inky Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!!  So glad to be popping in with you here for a Tiddly Inks - Fabulous Inky Friday!  Today I'm bringing you a cutie patootie creation featuring Party Time Pixies.  This creation was super fun to make!  I must confess, this little gem of an image was pre-colored sometime over the winter.  It was just patiently waiting it's turn and here it is!  I've colored the pixies with my Copics and trimmed out the image.

I used stickers to spell out the word Bloom.  I grabbed papers in pinks, greens and oranges.  Oh so summery IMO!  I trimmed my pink and orange papers together and then using a pair of decorative scissors cut the two pieces at the same time so that they would match exactly when they met in the middle of my hot pink cardstock base.  I layered the green polka dotted paper behind them and behind that a piece of SU! Very Vanilla.
As accents, I used chocolate brown suede ribbon, my MFT Fish Tail Die-namics and lots of stitching!  Thanks for popping in today and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

July Bombshell Hop

Greetings gorgeous Bombshells!!  So glad you've hopped in today!!  First off, if you've come here just to say HI I'm so glad!!  But you'll want to start this amazing hop at the Bombshell Blog here!!   If you've come here from Laura's blog then you are hopping along the correct path!! =)

Today's hop features a beautiful inspirational photo:
Beautiful colors that just *barely* start to make me think and peek forward into fall.  Just a tiny bit =)  So with that said, I took my colors and was in the mood to do some paper doll work!  If you didn't know, Bombshell has a great selection of digital clothing, available here, to dress up your Pin-up!!  They work specifically with the Bombshell Angel stamp set.

I started with printing my image three times.  Once onto my white cardstock then twice again onto each of my patterned papers.  I colored my image and then dressed her up.  I used my Spellbinders nesties to create a nice little panel for her.

I used rolled flowers - the paper ones I made by hand, the fabric one I purchased, vintage buttons from my Great-Grandmother's sewing basket, twill tape, self-adhesive pearls and a bit of scallop punch as my accents.
These colors were super fun to work with and very inspiring as I start to think about fall wardrobes!  (you'll notice she's wearing super cute light blue tights!!  =)  YAY!

Thank y'all for coming by today and checking out my inspiration creation and leaving bits of love!!  Please keep on hoppin' to Fiona's blog to see how she's interpreted this beautiful inspiration photo!!

Tiddly Inks Challenge #59 - Jumbo Tag or Ticket

Happy Tiddly Tuesday!!!  Oh did I have fun with this one!!  This week's Tiddly Challenge is to incorporate a ticket into your creation or to create using a jumbo tag.  I went with the latter.  I simply ADORE tags and I used them frequently in my creations.  I do for some reason, struggle when using them as the main component in lieu of a card base in a creation.  I eventually figure it out but for some reason I stare at them on my desk for quite some time before I can get my mojo going!

This week I've used two Tiddly Inks images - Whoops and the Text Paper from the Steampunk Extra Goodies pack!

I colored Whoops in with my Copics and paper pieced her dress.  I took a bit of sandpaper and distressed her dress a bit.  I then set my main image aside while I worked on the elements of my tag.  I covered the back of my tag with the Text paper.  I then distressed it with Tim Holtz - Tea Dye Ink and a sponge.

I then went through my scrap bins mixing and matching pieces together and stitching everything in place.  I used a paper doily cut with an MFT die, a large blingy flourish and a chipboard heart.  For the heart, I coated it in rich red craft ink, thick embossing powder and heat set it.  I simply ADORE the texture it adds!!  I used some vintage cotton ribbon, an SU! jumbo rivet and some PTI aqua ribbon for the top of my tag.

As a last embellishment, I pulled out my chocolate Doodlebug glitter and spiced up her ice cream cone - both in her hand and in her hair!!
I do so hope you come join us a the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog this week!!   I can't wait to see what you create!!

MFT - Wednesday Stamp Club

Happy Sunday!!  I'm here with this week's MFT Stamp Club!  Another great sketch that inspired me to create two cards - one for each of my children for when they start school.  I love to have these in advance so that I can put them away for when I want a card to tuck into their lunch boxes.  Here is this weeks sketch:
I created two different version of this; one girlie and one boyish:
As you can see I used Clair Keay's Little Loveosaurus set.  Really oh so cute!  I've had it in my stash for a while and it's never hit the ink so I figured now was a perfect time!  I stamped and paper pieced my little boy dino with green SU! DP.  My background is a new purchase from Michael's and the blue scallop is Basic Grey.  The rest is all SU!

I colored his sweet face with my Copics and then pieced his dino costume over top.  I used my circle and scallop punch to create the RAWR tag that has a giant dino bite out of it!  hehehe!  The ribbon is from JoAnn's.

My second creation is for my daughter:
Same stamp set, same sketch just lots of pinky and orange bright papers from Bazzill, SU! and SEI.  I added stitching here as well, lots of bling, seam binding and MFT baker's twine

I've also used MFT Perfect Panels for both main dino layers.

I hope you have enjoyed and been inspired to create and play along!!
