TAWS New Release Blog Hop!!

Hi again Alley Way friends!!

I'm so glad you're here with me today for the new release blog hop!!  You should be arriving here from Marina's blog!  If not the entire hop list is at the bottom of this post if you want to start at the beginning!

For today's project I used a PHENOMENAL new set called BIG Time.  It's full of fun and large sentiments which are great for all kind of techniques!

I did a fun watercolored background (shock I know!) to allow my sentiment to shine!!  I used Liquid Platinum embossing powder and my Versamark ink to make the sentiment pop.

I added stitching and a smattering of fun sequins for added texture and shine!

Thanks SO much for coming by today!!  I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!  Now off you go to N@Ali's blog!

TAWS post #64 - Sneak Peek - Day 1 - It's My Party!

Greetings Alley Way Friends!!  I'm SO glad you're here with me today!  Today is Day 1 of the sneak peeks for the September Alley Way release!  Today I'm featuring a set called "It's My Party".  It's a super cute and silly set of adorable turtles and the set is just perfect for birthday celebrations!

I used my Kurtake watercolor palette for this project.  I've created a multi-color watercolored background to make the adorable party line of turtles really pop!
I used Hero Arts black dye ink to add my sentiment.  It's so hard to catch in photos but I used a good coating of Glossy Accents to the eyes of the turtles to add another layer of texture and dimension.  It looks super cute in real life.
I added a single strand of pink/white baker's twine plus some super adorable wood veneer stars as added embellishments.
As a lasting touch I gold heat embossed a small punched heart a few times to give it a little bit of a "puffy" look and I tucked it right underneath the sentiment.

Thanks SO much for coming by today!  See you in a few days for the full new release blog hop!!

TAWS post #63 - A Little Color

Hi Everyone!  Meredith here bringing you a bright and happy creation today using Penguins on ParadeEveryday's A Holiday and True Colors.  I have watercolored my adorable pumpkin penguin using my Kurtake watercolors.  I added my sentiment to the main panel using Hero Arts black dye ink.  I stitched all of my layers.
I have a total 'thing' for banners these days and I love how they add awesome texture and color and they're super easy to make!  I have dies that cut them but often I'll find that I simply hand cut them as it's faster.  I used a variety of papers from a Studio Calico kit and Basic Grey for these banners.  I added some of these super cute faceted gems for another layer of texture and color!
Thanks for coming by today!!

TAWS post #62 - Happy Everything!!

Hi Friends!!  I'm here today with a card that I made using the newly released Penguins On Parade set.  I'm having SO much fun with this set!  I've created many adorable little penguins all dressed up!  Today my card features the "pig" outfit.
I watercolored my image using my Kuratke watercolors and I added my sentiment oriented vertically on my main panel.  I liked it better this way knowing I was going to have the gathering of banners also placed vertically in the background behind my main panel.  I stitched my far most background which grounds it a bit for me visually and adds some extra texture.  I also stitched the main panel as well.

Thanks, as always, for popping by today!

TAWS post #61 - What's Moo?

Hi!  Today I'm here with a simple yet cute card today.  Today's project features the new Penguins On Parade set, which is oh so fun!!  I watercolored my image and then stitched around the perimeter in red thread to make it pop a bit more.  I figured with the very simple black and white the red would work well along with the yellow notecard.  I added some black faceted gems to the front for some added texture.
Thanks so much for visiting today!

TAWS post #59 - Be Yourself!

Hello!!  Today's project is a very simple card made using Cha, Cha, ChaEveryday's A Holiday and Unique Peek!  I made the cute little cactus using watercolors and had some fun practicing my splatter painting!
I added my sentiment and then the cute little hat from the Everyday's A Holiday set.  I used my Copic markers to color the hat.  I then added some stitching along with the glittery background!  I wanted to add more but refrained as I really liked this card just the way it is!
Thanks so much for coming by today!

TAWS post #58 - Bee Original!

Happy Friday!!  I'm here today to bring you a summery and sweet card that I created using some of the newest Alley Way stamps!  I started with Pengin's on Parade using the adorable penguin and the bee costume to dress him up. I watercolored my image using my Peerless watercolors.  I find the Peerless are amazing for travel.  In a large zip top bag, I keep the Complete Edition set along with a refillable waterbrush and some paper towels in the event that I have the opportunity to paint on the go.
Once I had my image all painted I cut it out using my circle Spellbinder dies.  I used a collection of Studio Calico papers to arrange the background.  I stitched a few layers and added some wonderful rolled flowers using dies from MFT.  My sentiment is from the Everyday's A Holiday set.  It says "Be Original".  I wanted the sentiment to suit the bee image that I'm using so I cut the words apart and separately inked the "e" from the word "be" and stamped it twice to create the punny word "bee" for my "bee original" sentiment!  The stamps fit back together just fine so if I want to use the sentiment as it was originally intended it's easy to do.  I love cutting apart my stamps to suit my need which allows me to really get the most from my stash!
I added some faceted, flat backed embellishments to the center of my flowers as an added touch to pull this flowery look together and some hand cut banner flags in the top right corner to balance the visual weight of the many flowers in the lower left.  I love how bright and happy this project turned out!

Thanks so much for coming by to visit today!

TAWS post #57 - Hello...You Saved The Day!

Hi Friends!  Today I'm bringing you a creation using the newly released Alley Way set called Happy Hero!  I watercolored my image and added it to a 5"x7" kraft notecard using lots of stitching, patterned paper and embellishments to make the image pop.  My favorite is the glitter paper - I use it ALL THE TIME and have just a *slight* addiction to it!  ;)  I added a big word die from SSS that says "hello".  My thought was that when sent to the recipient it would read "hello...you saved the day!"
I used my Kuratke watercolors to color my image onto Canson 140 lb watercolor paper.
I'll be honest the large size of this card definitely had me stumped for a bit as I'm not used to working with so much surface area but I'm happy with how it came out!

Thanks for stopping by!
