Back to Basics...

A basic masculine card. Seems easy...right? Ya...not so much!! There's so much girly, girly, girl in my stash so putting together a masculine card is sometimes challenging. However...BASIC GREY to my rescue!! This is from their Obscure line and it made the job of pairing basic solids together relatively easy. Chocolate chip, Real Rust, a misc piece of textured green cardstock and PTI vintage cream for the inside and VOILA...a masculine card.

I hope that everyone is having a very creative weekend!

Happy Wedding...

See this is what happens when I leave things in draft form for too long!! I forget about them!! This is a wedding card that I held from posting because I didn't want the recipient to see it before I gave it to her.

This was for a wedding that we went to in Montreal last month. My children were flower girl and ring bearer respectively. It was beautiful and elegant and wonderful.

Happy Happy 6th Anniversary!!

I can't believe I forgot to post this!! My darling SIL and her hubby celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary last month. I wanted to make them a VERY special card as they are both very special to me. I love my SIL as if she were my own sister and her husband is fabulously funny, snarky and an all around fantastic guy. They are a wonderful couple and they are sharing a beautiful life together. They both love to travel and love the outdoors so I was THRILLED to have a use for this map paper that I've had literally FOREVER!! It was waiting for the perfect occasion and this was it!!

I think they both enjoyed the card and I had SO much fun making it!!

I find it in SO many places...nature, clothing stores, magazines, my children's artwork, my own house and my own closet...however the easiest form of inspiration for me is my friends and fellow bloggers. Today's inspiration comes from my friend Kristyn. She recently sent me the above card (pink) and it's a pocket style card which is SO clever and adorable!!

My brother-in-law's birthday is at the end of the month so I wanted to have his card all ready. He's a huge fan of the outdoors, fishing, camping, etc so I wanted to make a card that reflected that interest in his life.

I used Kristyn's design as I will most likely get him a gift card to tuck into the pocket as well!

Thanks Kristyn for being a great friend and a true inspiration!

I hope that everyone has a very creative weekend!

Seeing Clearly!!

A clear card...SO COOL!!! I've had these acetate cards FOREVER and have been a bit intimidated to use them. But when my SIL asked for a card for a special person I wanted to make an extra special card.

I sat and thought...and grabbed these bright and colorful papers from Fancy Pants. I had to really think this card through (not always the way I work) because I wanted to make sure that the adhesive that is holding the papers on wasn't going to show through on the other side. So I made sure to match the size paper with the same size interior paper where a message could be written.

I LOVE how it came out!! I used my SU! rub-ons along the bottom for an extra touch.

I hope that everyone is having a very creative week!
