One Card...

I am a firm believer that the small things in life really do make a difference.  I hold to that idea firmly when things get crazy.  Small things like one card can really bring a smile.  I created this card for one very special little girl in our lives.  She needs a smile and she needs to know how amazing she is and that she is capable of wonderful things.  I made this last night and sent it off in the mail this morning!

I started with a watercolor panel and used SU! watercolor crayons in Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom, Staedtler watercolor pencils, and MFT's Razzle Berry Dye Ink to create the background.  I scribbled back and forth laying my color down, then took a brush and water and blended it all together.  I then took the leftover paint and liberally flicked it all over my panel.
I took my color inspiration (and patterned paper and card base) from this (Bluegrass Farm) and last month's (Office Hours) Studio Calico card kits.  I cut random strips of patterned paper and layered them in the lower left hand corner of my panel and then used a Martha Stewart punch to cut out the butterfly.  I layered the butterfly back in using Glossy Accents for the center and then used clear dimensional adhesive for to make the wings pop up.
I added one of my VERY favorite stamps right now from MFT's Chalkboard Greetings, Too.  This is stamped using my favorite Hero Arts Black Ink.  As a final touch, I used a few clear "pearls" and one self-adhesive star which came in the Office Hours Card Kit.

I must admit, this took me about 20 minutes (with 3 kids that's about all I have these days!!) and I am thrilled with the results.

I hope to be back with another creation soon!
