Bite Me

Greetings Everyone!!!  Welcome to another Dark and Grungy Wednesday!!  Today I am loving the elegant simplicity of grungy darkness.  I used QKD's Jerseys set (one of my all time favorites) and used the Bite Me sentiment stamped in SU! Vintage Violet.  

I also used the gorgeous Coil Barb Wire stamp for the main focus toward the bottom of my card stamped in SU! Vintage Violet.  My card base is basic ivory cardstock, followed by a light green misc cardstock.  The grid paper is from a mat stack that I've been lovin' on lately!!

I added a bit of chrome bling at the bottom to add symmetry and dimension.  I stitched around the top part of the main layer and added the Fleur De Lis image from a past monthly kit in SU! Vintage Violet (retired).

Smeared Ink Blog Hop!!!

Greetings Everyone!!!

I'm so excited to be here with you today for our always awesome Smeared Ink Blog Hop!! Today is not just for the DT but for anyone that felt like joining in!!

The hops theme was to have a surprise element within your creation. I must admit...I have been a tad busier lately than usual so I have a standard card to show you with a little bling and one KILLER bikini (all glazed up) to show you!
I've been loving my Chicks Dig Guns set and have been creating with it like crazy. For today's creation I used Persimmon cardstock - one of the new Paper Source colors. I used large grid paper DP from a mat stack that I have and grunged up the edges with SU! Elegant Eggplant ink.
I also stamped my "sentiment" AMMO in the same EE from SU! I ran a strip of silver beading down the right hand side to add a bit of bling. I love the bad"assness" yet elegant simplicity of this card! Sorry that there's not much of a SURPRISE to it but I had fun making it anyways!!

QKD New Release Blog Hop!!!

Good Tuesday morning!! First and foremost you should have come here via Anita's fabulous blog however, if you have simply happened up on here you simply must start HERE so that you don't miss one fantastic creation!!!

Especially because today is a new release month!!! I am SO excited to introduce you to a BRAND NEW stamp today!! There are SO many new stamps in the house you are not going to be able to contain yourself!!

Today is a sketch challenge. Such a great way to start creating!! It's a great jumping off point when your mojo is a little 'stuck'.
May I introduce you to Lady Sham!!! She is super sassy and gorgeous!!!
I used mainly pastels adding a punch of slight darkness wherever appropriate!!!
I used my Copics, sparkly Sakura pens, paint pens and Doodlebug glitter to dazzle Ms. Sham up!!!
I layered, stitched and blinged up my card based on the sketch and then for some added dimension, paper pieced her umbrella for that extra pop!!!

Smeared Ink Monday!!!!

Good Monday Morning!! I'm here to bring you another badass card using Smeared Ink's "Chicks Dig Guns" line!!!
This is the one image from the set that I've never used and I LOVE it!!! This lady is hardcore and means business!!!

I've based my card in SU! Close To Cocoa followed by a layer of The Paper Store Metallic Ivory followed by PTI designer paper in ivory and chocolate brown plaid.
Our gun toting chick is colored with my Copic markers and trimmed out. I used the ammo stamps to create a border along the bottom.
I used one of my favorite stitches on my sewing machine. I think it looks like the line on a heart monitor. Super cool.

My sentiment "Shit" on the inside I thought was very "appropo" and is from The Paper Source.

CWC015 - CAS-tastic Wednesday Challenge

Good Sunday Morning everyone!! I'm so glad to be back and able to participate in this week's CAS challenge!!

This week we were challenged and inspired to create and CASE (copy and steal everything) from the awesome CAS Design Team!!

I chose Karen's gorgeous creation to CASE.
I have a dear friend who just suffered a loss in her family so a CAS card is JUST what I needed to send to her. And thank you Karen for your beautiful and serene inspiration.
I used The Paper Company cardstock for my base in Cool Metallic Shimmer Highlight followed by a layer of PTI Ivory Cardstock. I stamped the butterfly from the 2006 SU! Hostess Set first in Vintage Violet as my first layer and then in Elegant Eggplant for the 3-D layer. I also used the sentiment With Sympathy from SU!
This is going in the post box today and will hopefully bring a smidge of comfort to my friend in her time of grief.

Smeared Ink Altered Creation

Hey Y'all!! I'm still on vacation in Maine - which is one of my favorite places to create!! It's more difficult because I obviously can't bring my entire studio with me so sometimes when I forget something that I ALWAYS use like my RIBBON (the box is sitting on the kitchen table at home!!!) I'm forced to use other things that I find around the house.

In any event, I started this project knowing that I wanted to use the fabulous Smeared Ink Lil' Grumpies set.
My kids have been together all summer. And for the most part, at their very young ages, and being barely a year and a half apart they've been AWESOME. But sometimes the togetherness wears thin and they really get GRUMPY!!! And there in turn I get grumpy as does my husband. SO...I've created a GRUMPY jar! Whenever we're extremely grumpy we either have to deposit a quarter OR (for the kids seeing as they don't have a constant coin supply source;) a note saying why they are grumpy. And with that the grumpiness stays IN THE JAR! And we start fresh. =)
So..I grabbed a Dole peaches jar washed it out thoroughly and set to alter it. I measured the middle section and trimmed a piece of light yellow cardstock to fit and sprayed it with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz. I added it to the jar using "red liner" tape. I then added a piece of skull designer paper for my next layer.
I then stamped each of my favorite grumpies that represent each family member. I colored them with my Copics and sparkly Sakura gel pens. I trimmed them out and added them to the jar using standard runner adhesive.
I trimmed out a circle for the cover and stamped 'Don't Be A Grump' on the top and embellished it with a chipboard sticker and edged the outside of the circle with my Tim Holtz distressing ink in Antique Linen.
I trimmed the exterior of the cap with striped DP (the flipside of the skull paper), purple sheer ribbon and self-adhesive bling. I wanted to cover the huge DOLE on the side of the jar so I used strips of fabric that I had here in Maine from our last trip so in lieu of ribbon I tore strips of fabric and tied them around the jar.
This will be coming home with us and hopefully will help curb the grumpies when they arrive!!!

Happy Hardcore Wednesday everyone! I'm bringing you another fabulous grungy creation for the Queen Kat Dark Ink Sorority!!

Today I busted out one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE Fantasy Stamps - Ice Shimmer.
I used a palette of pinks, white and black. My card base measures 5X5" square. Followed by a layer of black cardstock. I then used the front and back of my skull paper matting each piece on a piece of grunged out hot pink DP to make them pop.

I stamped Ice in SU! Basic Black ink and using my glue pen glittered up her wings with Black Doodlebug Glitter. I ran the stamp pad around the outside edge of my layer for added dimension.
I added 2 rub on swirlies - one at the base of my fairy and one over top of the striped paper at the bottom.

I ran a layer of pearls down the side of my fairy image and added my sentiment 'hardcore' to the right had side for balance.
I created a matching interior as well using the same layering technique and paper only I took a nail file to the striped paper inside to really tear at it and add another layer of superb grunginess to this beauty!!

Let me introduce you to Virgo!! She is a gorgeous creation from the hands of Che Gilson. The colors of the Virgo are green and brown so I went to my stash and grabbed bits and pieces of some of my favorite designer papers and just started mixing and matching!!
I colored Virgo with my Copics and sparkly Sakura pens. I pretty much kept to the sketch adding stitching, of course, as I can't seem to make a card without it!! ;)
In lieu of the double ribbon, I decided to go with a ruffly ribbon which I LOVE doing. I try a different ruffle technique every time I use this style. Sometimes I staple, sometimes I use standard runner adhesive, sometimes I use glue dots and sometimes I stitch. This time I used a stapling technique.

I just love the ruffle and the way it looks 'different' depending on the technique that I use!!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #42 - Christmas In July!

Hey All!!

I'm on vacation so I'm keeping my usually verbose post very short today!!
I'm loving playing along with the Christmas in July theme over at Mo's!! I grabbed up this DELICIOUSLY ADORABLE cherub on a xmas ornament before we left for vaca. I just couldn't resist!!
He is colored with my Copics and mixed and matched with several layers of DP. The chipboard bracket is coated in my Log Cabin shimmer spritz. I used my diamond glaze and red glitter to give the ornament a little extra something special =)

TGF 2 Year Anniversary Hop!!!

Greetings everyone!!! I am SO excited to be here hopping with all of the fabulous gals and fans of TGF for this MOST exciting 2 year anniversary.
I am using one of my VERY favorite images. I made this card for my husband's and mine 19th "dating" anniversary which we celebrate on July 15th. We'll be married 14 years this coming October but, as silly as it is we still celebrate our dating anniversary.
My background is royal blue cardstock followed up by 3 pieces from a fantastic mat stack that I picked up a while ago.

I stitched each layer's edge with a straight stitch and then layered them on top of each other.
My image is colored with my Copics with the heart glittered up with MS Turquoise Glitter. One of the sheets of DP was all different umbrellas of which I picked some favorites and trimmed them out. To give this simple card a bit of dimension, I added the umbrellas with 3-D foam adhesive to make them pop.
My internal sentiment is "Keep The Sun In Your Heart" from Lawn Fawn's 'Partly Cloudy' set.

We had a lovely night just hanging in watching our new favorite show True Blood (ya...I know, I know...we're late in catching on) and eating sushi from one of our most favorite places!!!
