Altered Composition Notebook

My darling friend Joanne, as I stated in my last post, is a new SU! demo! (AND she's doing a phenomenal job at it) She's hosting a 6 month project workshop and she taught us how to alter a composition notebook, you know...the black and white speckled, wide ruled, old school notebooks. I've ALWAYS loved them. I'm also a nerd for all things of an office supply nature, which is why this paper crafting art is so near and dear to my heart!!! So anyway, we're headed to a little BBQ of a fabulous Mommy-friend of mine this afternoon and besides bringing snacks and wine I wanted to bring a little something...extra. So I CASEd Jo's design (thanks lovey!) and here's my version!!
Basic Recipe:
Cardstock: SU! Old Olive, SU! Barely Banana, DP (I've got to check the brand)
Stamps: SU! Doodle That, Warmest Words
Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Embellishments: SU! Grosgrain ribbon in Apricot, American Crafts ribbon - chocolate, American Crafts ribbon - teal (on edge of book), rhinestone brad - misc brand at JoAnn's (I actually think it's the house brand for JoAnn's)

Ooooo Baby!

My darling SIL commissioned me to make her a dozen baby cards; 4 girl, 4 boy, and 4 neutral. After I finished the notecards and bookmarks for her I started on the baby cards last night. It was a super busy week; friends over 1 night, out 2 nights in a row...one for a belated bday celebration and the other at my friend Joanne's (she's a new SU! demo!!) who hosted a FABULOUS project workshop. I had to leave before I finished so I'll post pictures of my finished product later.

But I digress...

So I came up with this design last night as I thought of all things 'girlie'!
******************
Basic Recipe:
Cardstock: Martha Stewart in Pink Carnation (card base), SU! Rose Red, SU! Designer Paper in Petals and Paisleys
Stamps: SU! Baby Firsts, Fiskars acrylic stamps in "Baby", SU! Warmest Regards ( inside sentiment reads 'Congratulations')
Ink: Versamark - for safety pins on Rose Red, SU! Basic Black classic ink
Embellishments: Making Memories tiny brads, Pink Sakura sparkly pen for safety pins, SU! 1/4 " grosgrain ribbon in Apple Green and Light Pink, foam Pop-dots for the baby's pj's!

Now I have 2 more girl cards to make, 4 boy and 4 neutral! That's on the agenda for today!
Hope everyone is having a creative start to the long weekend!!!

Tomorrow's work during naptime!!

Here's my next set of notecards all cut and ready to assemble...hopefully tomorrow afternoon while the babes nap.

Notecards

My darling SIL has commissioned me to make some personalized notecards for her boss and another co-worker. I love doing the notecards because once the design process is done, the 'work' is relatively quick. I like keeping them somewhat simple but as you can see I got some stamping in on the envelopes with my new SU! Doodle That set.

Basic Recipe:

Cardstock: SU! Tempting Turquoise, Very Vanilla, Petals and Paisleys DP.

Embellishments: SU! 1 1/4" circle punch, Cuttlebug letters

Accordion *BLING* Album

I had a very busy weekend. My MIL and FIL were here visiting from PA so there was little time to create. I did, however, take a class on Sunday afternoon at my local scrapbooking store. It was run by the ever so lovely Angelia Wiggington. We made the Spring Bling accordion album with all Heidi Grace products. They are super cute and very funky. Right up my alley!!
I did add a bit of my own touch when I got home because I was DYING to use my new Papertrey Little Lady set...which I am in TOTAL love with!!! It's beyond cute and adorable and it's made me decide that ladybugs are my new 'thing'. I added some of the Heidi *bling* to the ladybugs that were stamped with SU! inks in Pixie Pink, Green Galore and Classic Black. I still think it needs...*something*. Maybe some more ribbon, a few more lady bugs....oh and some photos!! It is actually a photo album. I may not add photos to mine because I'm finding it very pretty and inspiring all on it's own. I have to look through my recent photos of my babies to see if any of them fit well with the colors. Although, I may hold off and add some photos as the summer progresses because the theme kind of cries out for pool pictures, bathing suits and sand castles. We'll see.
I hope you enjoy!! Some of my favorite touches are the corners on the cover in the top right and left hand corners, the pockets with tags that provide spaces for journaling, and the mix of papers are just busy, exciting and super fun!
Hope everyone is having a very creative Monday!

Then and Now

Baby Crafting

as much as i hate to admit it...my babygirl is now 2.8 and says things like "NO MUMMY!! I do it like a BIG girl"...it kills me. but that's more for a therapist than for here...
but i digress...
we made paper dolls this afternoon and they came out smashingly!! i must post about this because i'm really hoping she's as into crafting as i am and i know she'll love to see her own creations on the computer. even though she doesn't really know what it is. =)

BRAK

for those of you who don't know...(i didn't until VERY recently) a RAK is an acronym for RANDOM ACT of KINDNESS. a BRAK is a BIRTHDAY RANDOM ACT of KINDNESS. so...on SCS you can join different groups where you send and receive RAK's of varying sorts. for my readers who are not involved in the crafting world it's kind of like an old fashioned pen pal system.

so...i recently signed up because i really like the thought of sending out cards and other goodies to people who i know will really enjoy them and appreciate them and find some inspiration from them.

my birthday was this past tuesday and i received this beautiful BRAK from Lynn at SCS. here's her gallery!http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?mcats=all&si=stampinlynn&what=allfields&name=&when=&whenterm=&condition=and

Thanks Lynn for making my birthday even more special!!
