Smeared Ink Monday - New Valentine's Day Release and Hop!!!

Good Morning All!!  Welcome to a TRULY unbelievably gorgeous Valentine's New Release Hop!!!  You are going to want every set in this latest Smeared Ink Release.  But first, you should be coming here from my darling friend LB!!  If you have hopped here "just because" (THANK YOU!) but you'll definitely want to start at the beginning at Terra's blog to see all of the unbelievable creations this team has to offer!

I had THE hardest time deciding what to create with as all of the sets are fabulous in their own right!!  When you see...you'll understand!!

I'm working with an image and sentiment from the new Smeared Ink "Smitten" set.

I colored my gorgeous lady with my Copics and Prismacolor markers.  I also colored the background with a Copic marker in Champagne.  I then drew tiny hearts with my white gel pen.  I trimmed the image out, corner rounded and distressed the edges.  I then used my new SU! Cherry Cobbler ink to further distress the edges.

I then grabbed my Bazzill paper in "High Heels" (seems VERY appropriate for Valentine's Day:).  That is my card base as well as my first layer.  I grabbed a scrap of DP that matched in color to the Bazzill and stitched a pocket to the first layer of cardstock.  I then added my main image layer on top of and to the side of the pocket.

I used my BRAND NEW Lilac colored Sizzix Big Shot cutting machine (a little nifty gifty to myself!!) to cut my sentiment "Smitten" out.  I sponged it with the Cherry Cobbler ink, coated it with clear embossing powder and heat set it.  I punched a hole through and added a ball chain as the pull tag.

I used blue Taffeta ribbon from SU!, an altered, distressed, chipboard question mark, a vintage plastic button, white crocheted ribbon and white yarn to create a vintage cluster in the lower left hand section of my card.  As a final touch, I added an "owl" clip for a balancing touch of hardware to counterbalance the ball chain in the upper left.
Please keep on hopping to Kapree and let's see what delicious eye candy she's come up with today!!

I hope you have enjoyed and been inspired to create today!!

Thanks for leaving love!!
