Paper Canteen Valentine's Day Blog Candy!!!

Good Morning Paper Canteen friends and readers!!  I do hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!  We had a lot of indoor time unfortunately, due to my darling babies both suffering through respective illnesses.  Ya, it was one of those weekends.  But, I try to always make the best of being 'stuck' indoors at times like those.  So I was able to delve into my crafty 'to-do' list and gather all of the wonderful goodies that I've been meaning to put together into some Valentine's Day Blog Candy just for you!!

I simply love Valentine's Day just because it's fun.  It's pretty, it's sweet, it's creative and it's simply DELICIOUS!!  Lots of fun sweet treats, pretty colors, fun images and just loveliness all around.

I'm asking three things from you in order for you to be entered for this huge Blog Candy drawing.

1.  Add this picture below to your side bar along with a link to this post.  (I'm looking to get to at least 500 followers)
2.  If you aren't already, become a Paper Canteen follower - just click "Join This Site" on the right side bar.

3.  Tell me one or any of the following:

NOTE: If you answer one question you will be entered one time.  If you answer two questions you will be entered two times and if you respond to all three you will be entered into this drawing three times which increases your chances to win for sure!!  =)

  • Video/Photo tutorial you'd like to see from me?
  • Ask A Crafty Question?

I was already a follower, so one down. The pic is on my blog (measofrightnow.blogspot.com) with the link. Two, check!

Three: I would like to see videos on how to use my Big Shot in a different way, maybe how to use the dies more creatively...out of the box ideas.

A video on how to tie those cute bows with baker's twine with multiple loops.

When I am looking for card design ideas, I look for a challenge for a sketch, another challenge for the color theme and a third for a theme, whether it be an occasion (like Valentine's Day)or using a certain element (like chipboard or layering).

I know you will have 500+ followers in no time!

For the second question, do you like using preformatted pages? I kind of feel like that's cheating! LOL!

I have only been scrapbooking for less than a year and have never participated in a Challenge! Maybe it's time to start... ;)

I am already a follower, and enjoy your cards, TFS. I do not have a blog.
I would love to see how to create different edges on cards
I am just learning how to use prisma color pencils and would love to see different hair or skin colors to be used , for challenges I love MFT challenge, after all it is my fav place to shop, Simon says stamp and ribbon carousel. I have tons of ribbon and gives me a reason to use it.

Hi, Meredith!
Hope your kids are doing better...
I am already a follower.
I like tutorials about embellishments, like how to make your own flowers or how to tie creative bows... also how to make fun folds to the cards.
I don´t have one only spot for challenges, normally I search on Feline Creative and look for the ones I really like, a great sketch, a nice color combo, or an embellishment challenge... I like to combine many challenges. If it´s for the prizes, I like Simon Says Stamps, Really Reasonable Ribbons, DYSU.... and many others :)
A question... can you create in many different styles or you have your own? (I'm asking this because I am very CAS and sometimes would like to be fancy or vintage or shabby, but it doesn´t work well... if yes, how do you do it?)

Such a great giveaway! What to ask......hmmmmmmmm.........maybe a tutorial on those cute accordian circles I'm seeing everywhere???

Sparkly Engineer said...

Hey, Meredith. Let's see what I can do about those questions.

1. Do a tutorial about photographing your cards. They always look awesome on your blog.

2. Do you have a craftroom/studio and how do you store your stuff?

3. My fav challenges are of course the Bombshell Challenges but I also like the House Mouse Monday Challenge, MFT Wed. Sketch Challenge, and the Creative Belli Challenges. I don't always have time for them though.

Love your work but I have to say your MFT cards just rock!

Hi, Meredith! I'm already a follower. I posted your candy on my sidebar(http://craftylittlewoman.blogspot.com/). You always seem to have just the right number and mix of embellishments on your projects. Do you have any tips? I always seem to have too many, or too few embellishments on my creations. Any photo tutorials involving embellishments would be awesome. Thanks!

As for entering challenges, My favorite place is Fiskateers.com. Its a fabulous site (but you have to be a member) and it focuses on the Fiskar's brand cause its a promotional website to spread the word of the Fiskars brand name. You can enter challenges during online crops to win prizes.
There are also blogs I love entering but the competition on there is much bigger cause there are 100's of entries.
Thanks for all the wonderful chances.
Hugs, Rosalee

Thanks for the AMAZING chance to win Meredith! I follow your blog, your button is on my blog and as for the questions/comments:

1. A video/tutorial I would like to see is of your favorite "go to" technique the you use on many if not most of your projects. AND I have two... on one of our cards from awhile ago you used the TGF digi image of the Bride & Groom. I just remember LOVING the highlighted hair on the bride! :)

2. OOOhhhh... A crafty question... If you HAD to pick ONE (1) MFT die that you absolutely could not live without which one would it be?

3. My favorite place for challenges would be the MFT blog. Although I have not participated in many I dream of participating in them all! Oh and of course PaperCrafts Magazine as well!

Thanks so much!

XoXo,

Katie

Hola, Chica!!!! My, what a big beautiful candy! I posted the pic and a link on my blog ;D I've been a follower for a very long time, but you already know that, lol!

1. I'm totally a boob when it comes to adding stitching to my cards, so I would love to see a toot on how you add your fab stitching details to your projects.

2. Okay, you're on a deserted island and you can only have 10 crafty tools available to you, what do your chose? I know 10 sounds generous, but it will be harder than you think...lol!

3. I never manage to participate in many challenges. I think I'm a tad lazy when it comes to this ;D I wish there was a place that was "themeless" ALL the time and I could just pop a project in once in a while. Hahaha! I know, that totally defeats the purpose of the term "challenge"...!

Awesome blog candy, lady! Hugz to you! ~Cheryl

Very awesome blog candy!
You always do fantastic work so videos of anything would be awesome! I think videos on interactive style cards would be cool. Like moving parts, pop up, shaker...those types. Maybe using stamped images in mini scrapbooks.
I would like to know your favorite inks for stamping & coloring.
Thanks so much for all the fab posts & ideas!

I'm not sure if you wanted the answers to your questions on separate comments or not...so here goes!

I LOVE learning new techniques...especially on video tutorials, so that I can really see what's going on. Something new and different in stamping (since I'm pretty new at it) or a really cool card fold would be great to see!

Crafty question: I'm COMPLETELY new at coloring stamps. Since I'm just starting and don't want to invest a lot into it (in case I don't stick with it) what coloring tools and brands (markers, inks, water pens, colored pencils, etc) would you recommend?

Challenges: I don't participate all that often in challenges, but the few times I have, have been over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, since I use my Cricut A LOT!!!! Plus, some of the DT members come and comment on your entries. Even though I know that's mostly just common practice, It's still nice to get some encouragement!

Hi1
I just became your follower!

1- I would love to see a tutorial on stitching, that one is kind of tricky for me.

2- I would like to know your favorite coloring medium?

I love to participate in different challenges, but recently I've been participating in the chick challenges, I love to stamp and this one also requires the use of the weekly sketch.

Hope you reach 500+ followers soon. Big hugs,
Julia
