QKD - Royal Color Challenge!!!

Hello!!! Welcome to a fantastic Royal Monday!!! Today we were issued a color challenge!!! Blue, White, Grey/Silver! I knew JUST what to make!!!

If you've arrived here 'just because' then WELCOME!!! If you came here from Penny's blog then you are on the right track and if not you'll want to start at the beginning of this awesome hop with us!!!

Today I've made a funky Hanukkah card! I used a long note base of 9 1/4" x 4". It's a great size when you have larger images or paper with a large image to work with.
My base is made out of grey cardstock then stitched with the white/blue designer paper. The paper kind of reminds me of a blueprint!! Super cute!! I stitched that down with a zig zag stitch and then added the right hand panel of silver cardstock matted and straight stitched with it's matching designer paper. The star is the star stamp from the Party Like A Rockstar set.

I stamped it in silver ink and then went over it with silver Stickles.

I then stamped JOY from the Doodled Holiday Words set which is a MUST have for any holiday card!!! So cute...and at only $9.99...it's simply a bargain. It's a FAB set. Very versatile. I stamped it in Brilliance Pigment Ink in sky blue and then heat set it with embossing powder directly onto the DP background. To bring more emphasis to this word I used the silver Stickles to follow the pattern on the DP next to it.
Lastly, I created a HAPPY HANUKKAH banner using the DP and printing sentiment on the free hand banner out on my computer. I backed it with a matching blue cardstock so it would stand out more and stitched around the edges.

I hope you enjoyed my creation today!!! Keep on hoppin' to see what Linda has for us today!!!

And, here's the full list of participants in today's hop in case you get lost along the way!!

On The Seventh Day Of Christmas The Queen Gave To Me...

The Doodiliest stamp set in all the land!!!

I have used this set over and over and over. It's fabulous for the holidays but also other occasions as well!!

Today I bring to you a Christmas tag!! As all of the others (for continuity) I have used my Cricut to cut a 5" tag plus insert. The insert is an old school, vintage, colored olive green and ivory gingham DP. I stitched it down with bright red thread. I then added gold gems to the perimeter and used my red sparkly Sakura pen to doodle in between the stones.

I then inked up PEACE from the Doodled Holiday Words set and set to color it with my Sakuras and gold paint pen.

I matted it on a scrap of red cardstock whose edges I lightly distressed and adhered it to the tag with pop dots.

I hope you check out my fellow DT members to see what they've been coming up with!!!

QKD Royal Court Crop Weekend - INCHIES!?!?!?

Hey everyone!!! Happy Sunday!!! We're still in the middle of our Royal Court Crop Weekend!!! Vicki (aka The Queen) has issued so many amazing challenges to inspire and keep our awesome DT on our toes!!! This challenge was issued as follows:

"You must use inchies, twinchies or shorties on your project.

Inchie: 1"X1"
Twinchie: 2" X 2"
Shortie: 1.75" X 1.5"

Honestly...I had NO idea what these were!!! I had no idea how to do them or what so I have 2 attempts to show you on this post.
On my first attempt I stamped my images FIRST and THEN tried cutting them down to be 1x1. Um...ya...that didn't so much work!! I did the best I could and finished the card. I really like how it came out however, it looks more like a ransom note than an inchie card!! LOL!
Last night we had a Royal Court Chat and I asked the other DT gals how to do this and I realized that I needed to cut the inchies FIRST line them back up together and THEN stamp!! AH HA!! Now I understand. So I worked with the same color, paper and stamp scheme as the Randsom Note card. So this time I cut the 1" squares first, I then stamped PEACE from the Doodled Holiday Words set (IT'S A MUST!!! SO VERSATILE!)
I matted this fab new paper from American Crafts - Aplified - Doo Wop is the name. The purple card base is PTI, the silver paper is actually a slice of SU! Pomegrantate paper that I coated in Versamark Dazzle ink and then silver embossing powder which I've only busted out once or twice ever! But I love the sparkly effect!!

The word PEACE itself is colored in Copics, Prismacolor Markers and my Elmer's gold paint pen. I then matted them to SU! Tempting Turquoise squares, stitched around the perimeter of each one with a straight stitch using black thread and adhered them with foam squares to the silver paper. Before adhering this to the card base I tied a piece of Purely Pomegranate SU! double stitched ribbon around the base and tied on a truly vintatge (from Great-Grandmother's sewing kit) rhinestone button. I then used my "redliner" tape to adhered the final panel down since it was heavy from the heat embossing and the inchies.

I love this inchie thing!! I need to work on it but it's such a fun idea!!!

Thanks Vicki and the team for helping me learn something new!!!

And thanks for visiting!!

You simply MUST check out my fellow QKD DT Anita's, Lara's, Linda's, and Nina's , take on this challenge. Their creations are all simply GORGEOUS!!!
