QKD - Royal Color Challenge!!!

Hello!!! Welcome to a fantastic Royal Monday!!! Today we were issued a color challenge!!! Blue, White, Grey/Silver! I knew JUST what to make!!!

If you've arrived here 'just because' then WELCOME!!! If you came here from Penny's blog then you are on the right track and if not you'll want to start at the beginning of this awesome hop with us!!!

Today I've made a funky Hanukkah card! I used a long note base of 9 1/4" x 4". It's a great size when you have larger images or paper with a large image to work with.
My base is made out of grey cardstock then stitched with the white/blue designer paper. The paper kind of reminds me of a blueprint!! Super cute!! I stitched that down with a zig zag stitch and then added the right hand panel of silver cardstock matted and straight stitched with it's matching designer paper. The star is the star stamp from the Party Like A Rockstar set.

I stamped it in silver ink and then went over it with silver Stickles.

I then stamped JOY from the Doodled Holiday Words set which is a MUST have for any holiday card!!! So cute...and at only $9.99...it's simply a bargain. It's a FAB set. Very versatile. I stamped it in Brilliance Pigment Ink in sky blue and then heat set it with embossing powder directly onto the DP background. To bring more emphasis to this word I used the silver Stickles to follow the pattern on the DP next to it.
Lastly, I created a HAPPY HANUKKAH banner using the DP and printing sentiment on the free hand banner out on my computer. I backed it with a matching blue cardstock so it would stand out more and stitched around the edges.

I hope you enjoyed my creation today!!! Keep on hoppin' to see what Linda has for us today!!!

And, here's the full list of participants in today's hop in case you get lost along the way!!

On The Twelfth Day Of Christmas The Queen Gave To Me...

Mr. Stalone Under the Tree!!!!?!?!!? =) That's right!!! Mr. Stalone!!! He's one of our new fabulous images in the shoppe!!

This is my 12th and final holiday tag!!! It happens to be in Hanukkah themed colors but it's really a culmination of what my family believes in and that's FAITH. Above anything else...we have faith...and whatever interpretation you take from that is yours.
I used my Cricut to cut out the word Faith as my jumping off point for this final tag. I already had the background paper set and sewn. So I placed the word where I wanted it and adhered it down. I knew I wanted to use Mr. Stalone but also knew that he'd be too big and would cover part of the word or the word would cover part of him.
So...I colored him with my Copics and made his wings sheer and iridescent looking with Icicle Stickles.

I heat set the Stickles so they'd dry faster and I scanned my image in. I then resized it and printed it out. I used a pale green cardstock for his matte and stitched a border with black thread around him. He was now perfect for my tag. I added a little glittery brad beneath him to balance out the beautiful bird flying high above on the left hand upper side of the tag. This bird was also cut out using my Cricut, covered with silver ink, silver embossing powder and heat set. I used a pretty grey seed bead as his eye for some really nice dimension.
(I was thinking that secretly Mr. Stalone is having Faith that he'll get to capture that yummy looking bird!! ;) LOL!!

Anyway - I then doodled with my silver paint pen on the word Faith and added a few random blue self-adhesive rhinestones for some extra pop.

I do so hope you've enjoyed all of my holiday tags!!! I had SO much fun making them and I have to say I don't think I repeated one stamp on any of the tags!! That was my intention...I tried to use a different combo of stamps on each tag with no repeats.

Now I'm going to hang them all together in their proper order as a garland to hang up in my house for the rest of the holiday season!! Once I have that done and up (I need to figure out where to hang it!!) I'll post pictures.

Thanks again for visiting and have a great night!!

Oh and there are FABULOUS deals going on right now at the shoppe so head on over and shop, shop, shop!!!

On The Fourth Day of Chrismtas The Queen Gave To Me....

a board game under the tree!!!! Well...not REALLY but she did create the fabulous Child's Play Game Set. Today I have another Hanukkah tag for you!!! You can see a theme going here...one day Christmas, one day Hanukkah...etc! =) I'm tryin' to keep everyone on their toes!
Again, using my Cricut I cut a 5" tag plus insert. The outer section of this tag I inked up in silver ink and heat embossed. I then stitched the DP center with navy thread. I printed the dreidel from the clip art in my Word program, colored over it with my Versamark pen and heat set that as well.
I found a beautiful sentiment about Hanukkah on-line, printed it out, covered it with Versamark Dazzle and heat set that as well. It's hard to see in the pictures but it says:

"...and may this festival of lights bring blessings upon you and all of your loved ones for happiness, for health and for spiritual wealth, and may the lights of Hanukkah usher in the light of Moshiach and a better world for all of humankind."

I added 2 sparkly, glittery, silver brads and adhered that to the tag. Lastly (once I had everything else in place as I wanted to make sure that I had enough room, I added the QKD sentiment "Playing Happily Ever After".

I added black leather cording for hanging and again...Voila!

I hope you enjoyed my tag today!! See you again tomorrow!!!

On The Second Day of Christmas The Queen Gave To Me...

Puffy Bugs and a Doodly Stamp set!!! =) Hi Everyone!!! I have another tag for you today!!! My family is an interfaith family. I am Jewish and my husband is not. We celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas culturally...not religiously. We explain to our children about family and the importance of helping others especially during this time of year and about being spiritual, faithful and hopeful. So with that my tag today is a Hanukkah tag. I used the Puffy Bugs and Doodled Holiday Words stamp sets along with my printer to come up with an appropriate sentiment for the Jewish holiday.

Same as my tag from yesterday, I used my Cricut to cut the tag and it's inside. For Hanukkah I'm using blue and silver. The background paper called to me for some calming visual intrigue but I've added lots of bits so it's not busy but not too serene either. I adhered them together and then zig zag stitched around the perimeter.

I inked the Puffy Bug in SU! Brocade Blue and colored her and her baby in with my Copics. I punched them out using an oval scallop, paper pierced each scallop and put a speck of silver stickles in ever other piercing.
I then stamped JOY from the Doodled Holiday set in gray pigment ink and heat embossed it. I also used my silver stickles after I stitched around the perimeter of that layer.

I added a stripe of blue polka dotted ribbon and to that I hand stitched halfway around a little metal circle that I had lying around from goodness knows what, a star brad (even though it's not a 6 pointed star as the Star of David is...I figured it could represent) and the heart pin as a little triumvirate of decor. Lastly, I printed in Word the words The and Of Hanukkah in blue ink on grey cardstock. I trimmed them out with my SU! word punch (I think that's what it's called) and found just the right place for them. I added some silver cording and Voila! Merry Hanukkah everyone!! ;)

Thanks for visiting!!!

And don't forget!!!
