TAWS post #63 - A Little Color

Hi Everyone!  Meredith here bringing you a bright and happy creation today using Penguins on ParadeEveryday's A Holiday and True Colors.  I have watercolored my adorable pumpkin penguin using my Kurtake watercolors.  I added my sentiment to the main panel using Hero Arts black dye ink.  I stitched all of my layers.
I have a total 'thing' for banners these days and I love how they add awesome texture and color and they're super easy to make!  I have dies that cut them but often I'll find that I simply hand cut them as it's faster.  I used a variety of papers from a Studio Calico kit and Basic Grey for these banners.  I added some of these super cute faceted gems for another layer of texture and color!

TAWS post #59 - Be Yourself!

Hello!!  Today's project is a very simple card made using Cha, Cha, ChaEveryday's A Holiday and Unique Peek!  I made the cute little cactus using watercolors and had some fun practicing my splatter painting!
I added my sentiment and then the cute little hat from the Everyday's A Holiday set.  I used my Copic markers to color the hat.  I then added some stitching along with the glittery background!  I wanted to add more but refrained as I really liked this card just the way it is!

TAWS post #58 - Bee Original!

Happy Friday!!  I'm here today to bring you a summery and sweet card that I created using some of the newest Alley Way stamps!  I started with Pengin's on Parade using the adorable penguin and the bee costume to dress him up. I watercolored my image using my Peerless watercolors.  I find the Peerless are amazing for travel.  In a large zip top bag, I keep the Complete Edition set along with a refillable waterbrush and some paper towels in the event that I have the opportunity to paint on the go.
Once I had my image all painted I cut it out using my circle Spellbinder dies.  I used a collection of Studio Calico papers to arrange the background.  I stitched a few layers and added some wonderful rolled flowers using dies from MFT.  My sentiment is from the Everyday's A Holiday set.  It says "Be Original".  I wanted the sentiment to suit the bee image that I'm using so I cut the words apart and separately inked the "e" from the word "be" and stamped it twice to create the punny word "bee" for my "bee original" sentiment!  The stamps fit back together just fine so if I want to use the sentiment as it was originally intended it's easy to do.  I love cutting apart my stamps to suit my need which allows me to really get the most from my stash!
I added some faceted, flat backed embellishments to the center of my flowers as an added touch to pull this flowery look together and some hand cut banner flags in the top right corner to balance the visual weight of the many flowers in the lower left.  I love how bright and happy this project turned out!

Thanks so much for coming by to visit today!

TAWS post #56 - New Release Blog Hop

Hi Friends!  You should be arriving via Marina's blog.  It's time for this month's awesome Alley Way Blog Hop!  Thanks for coming by and I'm so glad to share my project with you!  Today I'm using the new set called Everyday's A Holiday.  It comes with THE cutest yet basic "costumes" to dress up the adorable penguin in the Penguins on Parade set.
I stamped my image onto good quality 140lb watercolor paper.  I colored it in with my Kurtake watercolors.  I cut him out using my circle Spellbinders and nested him on an assortment of kraft, black and Studio Calico papers.  I stitched my innermost circle to anchor the image.

I used a plethora of papers and some black and white ribbon from past month's Studio Calico kits to pull together the entire card.  I stitched around the perimeter purposefully stitching through the ribbon to hold it in place better.  And I like how it looks.  I added some black dots and a bit of flair to balance everything out.

My favorite touch which is hard to photograph is the glossy accents on his goggles!  It makes me giggle every time I see it!

Thanks so much for coming by today!  You're off to N@Ali's blog!

See you next time!
