Happy Flowers...

Hi YNS friends!!  Today brings us another challenge at the YNS blog and SCS forum.  This week's theme is flowers!  Easy peasy, huh?  I've used the Seasonal Icons Two set in my creation today. 

One of my favorite techniques lately is to play with watercolor paper, Distress Inks and pearlized water in a mister bottle.  I just LOVE the effect and the original feel this lends to a handmade creation.

I used Versamark ink and white embossing powder to lay the image down.  I added Seedless Preserves and Shaded Lilac on top then misted with my pearlized water and zapped it with my heat gun (because I am really impatient! *wink*)

I added some of my most favorite and cherished resin flowers as tiny accents.

Safari Anyone?

Hi YNS friends!!  SO glad to share with you my creation for this week's challenge at YNS!  It's a color inspiration challenge using the colors teal, lime green and pink.  Other than that, it's all up to you!!  I loved this combo because it was just so summery and bright.

I've used the very sweet Safari Fhiona in my design sample.  I colored her with my Copics and paper pieced the band on her hat. 

I dove into my scrap bin and found all of the papers that you see.  Love it when that happens.  I used the itty bitty stars that came out of the center of my MFT Star border you see along the bottom.  I picked them up with a paper piercing tool, dabbed the tiniest bit of Glossy Accents as my glue and arranged them scattered about.  I did the same with a few tiny butterflies trimmed out using the MFT Notched Tab Die-namics accents.

I used an MFT File Tab die-cut to house my sentiment.  

I did a bit of basic stitching and then layered it all together.  I hope you come play along with us at the YNS Challenge Blog or at the SCS Forum!

Bright and Bold!

Greetings YNS Fans!  Today brings a new challenge over at the YNS SCS Forum and Blog!  This week we are providing you a fabulous sketch for inspiration!

Here is my interpretation using Safari Snap Shot, Skateboard Dude, and Sleepover Party. 

Using watercolor paper, I lined my individual stamps onto my Fiskars Stamp Press and inked them with Versamark.  I then coated them with white embossing powder and heat set the entire panel.  I then took my Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade and sponged both halves of the panel and then generously sprayed it with pearlized water and let it dry by itself.  When I use my heat tool to quick dry pieces like this the color moves as I want it to but this time I wanted to see how it would dry if I just let it be and I LOVE the results.

Super shiny, super bright and a bit tie-dye as well!  I backed it with some fabulous aqua cardstock from Bazzill and backed it with some awesome papers from Amy Tangerine and Basic Grey for the little squares.  The entire main panel is anchored with mini silver brads.

A Simple...Hi!

Greetings YNS fans!!  Today is a brandie new challenge over at the YNS Challenge blog and the YNS SCS forum.  This week's challenge is always a favorite - Anything Goes!  I've used a newly released YNS stamp Jam Jar Globe in combination with the darling flower stamp from Seasonal Icons Set Two.

I started with my jam jar stamp inking it up with SU! Basic Black ink.  I then took the Seasonal Icons stamp and inked it with Momento right into the center of the jam jar.  I used my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure perfect placement.  I colored my image with my Copics.  I then coated the jar with Versamark and added four layers of clear embossing powder.  I used regular embossing powder as I wanted to crack the layers (just bending the paper back and forth a bit after it's dry) but wanted the cracks to be thin.  If I'd used UTEE I would have achieved a much more dramatic cracking and that's not quite the look I was going for. 

My card base is Hero Hues layering papers and the DP is all scrap that was on my desk.  I used some delicious chocolate stitched ribbon in combination with some American Crafts Thickers for my 'hi' sentiment.  I anchored my corners with some mini silver brads and kept this very CAS.

Summertime!

Greetings YNS Fans and Friends!!  Yep!  It's another fabulous challenge day at the YNS Challenge Forum over at SCS!!  This week's challenge is anything SUMMERTIME!  Easy Peasy, right?

For my creation today, I've used the super cute Skateboard Dude set.  (psst..it's on sale right now!!)  I inked him with Momento ink onto Copic Xpress paper.  I colored him with my Copic and Prismacolor markers.  I used my Spellbinder label nesties to trim him out and have matted him with Basic Grey paper.

I've used my Chevron Stripes Die-namics to embellish the background in addition to new papers from Basic Grey - PB&J.  I also used new wooden buttons - also from BG.

Best BEST Friends!!

Greetings YNS friends and fans!!  I'm super excited to be here bringing you the most amazing color challenge today at the YNS blog.  The challenge is one of my favorites a color challenge!  Orange, green and pink!!  Such fun and summery colors.

My creation today features the very sweet Girlfriends stamp.   I inked the stamp with Momento and colored with my Copics.  After I colored their jeans, I took a scrap piece of denim, dabbed a bit of my Colorless Blending Ink onto it and lightly dabbed their jeans picking up color and leaving in it's place the super cool denim pattern. 

I used lots of layers - papers from Recollections, Bazzill and MME.

I used a doily die layering it three times behind my main image which I've added a blingy circle for added visual interest.  I used three, plain, white paper doilies to coat in SU! ink, clear embossing powder and heat set it for that extra fun and glossy shine.

I added a bunch of my favorite resin flowers from Michaels and some self-adhesive orange gems to compliment.

I used a mini tab die to house the YNS sentiment 'Best Friends' stamped with Basic Black from SU! and inked onto kraft cardstock.  I did a bit of stitching and added a hot pink fluffy Grosgrain bow to finish the entire creation.
