Smeared Ink Monday!!

Good Morning everyone!!  I'm SO excited to announce that we woke up to a blanket (albeit a tiny blanket) of snow this morning here in MA!!

Yipee!!!! I love hunker down weather!!  Give me more of an excuse (as if I needed one) to create!!!  LOL!

Today I bring you my Monday creation for Smeared Ink using the Symbology of Angels set.  YUM!  ;)

I combined it with the November sketch challenge over at The Smeared and Smudged forum.  You MUST come play along!!!  The prizes every month are over the top generous and awesome!!!

Here is the sketch we were given:

Sketches for me go either way...I either a) follow them to a TEE or b) I take a loose interpretation and run with it.  Today is somewhere in the middle.  I took the sketch and made it square which forced me to squish all of the fabulous elements together (which is fine) but just required some extra thinking and planning =)

Here is my interpretation of the sketch:

My cardbase is 5.5 x 5.5 using kraft cardstock.  I then created my own background paper by mounting all of the words in the Symbology of Angels set and stamping them sporadically on the paper.

I then figured out all of the pieces for my card, using all scrap pieces that I had from a variety of bins and boxes.  I did some stitching and paper pleating for extra visual interest.

I stamped my angel on a scrap of Basic Grey paper in Momento Ink.  I then used Crystal Glaze on his wings and then coated them in clear MS glitter.  I was impatient (shock) so I took my heat gun to the glaze to dry it and bubble it up.  If you could touch his wings they are crackly and bubbly and crunchy and super glittery!!  So cool.  But it looks soft and snowy from the pictures!!  I colored him with my Copics and glittered up his abs with my gold Sakura gel pen.

My last touch was 2 jumbo brads from Making Memories "Just Chillin" line.

I hope you enjoy and have been inspired!!  Please come play along!!

Crafty Hugs!
