MFT - May Sketch Challenge - Week One

So ya...If you haven't yet realized it...I'm officially an MFT junkie!!  This being my birthday month means that I have some extra bucks to spend on the fabulous new goodies that were released this month...oh and then some.  (wink!)

I love participating in the MFT weekly sketch challenges hosted here!  This week is no exception!!  I took the sketch and created a birthday card for a dear friend of mine.  She loves purple and chocolate so what better MFT set to create with than PI - A Box Of Love
I started with a card base of SU! Chocolate Chip cardstock at 5.5" square.  I stamped my image twice on white cardstock and once on purple DP.  I first colored my entire image on the first copy of white cardstock.  I then paper pieced her dress out of the purple DP.  I colored only the box of chocolates from my second copy on the white cardstock with my Copics and paper pieced them.

I used a combination of my Nestie circles and my Cricut - Home Accents cartridge for my circles and scallops.  I used my sewing machine to carefully stitch around the circle and my main panel was complete.

I followed the sketch using four different kinds of designer papers in the back.  They are mostly Recollections brands from Michael's.  For my accents I've used a strip of bling, three MS self adhesive pearls and the oh so fabulous MFT - Die-Namics Rolled Daisy Die that I JUST got in the mail yesterday!  I created the daisy, rolled it together, held it in place with a brad and a glue dot.  I then painted it generously with a coating of Glossy Accents and sprinkled it with purple glitter.
I used my newly acquired MFT Die-Namics Sweet Stack to create the single layer sentiment panel on the interior of my card.

I used the same papers on my interior to complete my creation.

I hope you come along and play with this oh so fun MFT sketch!!

Wishing everyone a very creative week ahead!!
