Tiddly Inks Challenge #24 - ATC

Hi Everyone!!  I have running around mad lately with a TON of comings and goings and commitments, etc...that I can feel that I'm GETTING caught up.  Not there yet but getting there!!!

Regardless, this weeks fabu challenge over at the Tiddly Ink Challenge blog is superb!!!  I chose a relatively simple design that would translate well when shrunk way down.  The 'Who Loves You' image was perfect.  I could have gone very "halloweeny" with this but today was my daughter's 6th birthday and we're surrounded by American Girl Doll clothing boxes.

The hot pink, bright purple and green  really called to me so I ran with it.

I printed the image twice.  I colored one fully and then colored in only the hearts of the other tree.  I trimmed out all of the hearts and added them to the fully colored tree with bits of 3-D foam adhesive that I kept trimming down.

After my image was done, I used Illustration Board as my ATC backing, followed by a strip of lavender paper, followed by a scrap from one of the AG boxes, followed by a Celedon green ribbon tied in a neat knot.  I then trimmed out my tree and pop it up on 3-D adhesive and added it to the ATC.
As my only extra embellishment, I added a strip of turquoise rhinestones for a little glitter and extra shine.

The 3-D effect really was the look I was going for and keeping it simple really helped.

I hope you enjoy and come join everyone over at the TI Challenge blog!!

Queen Kat Designs Blog Hop!

Greetings All!

Welcome to another fabulous hopping week here at QKD!

You should have arrived here from my darling friend Alex's gorgeous blog and you just happened upon here please start at the beginning of this hop so that you get to see everyone's fabulous works!!

Our assignment was to create 2 ATC's or an altered art page.  I decided to go with a set of 2 ATC cards.  For those of you unfamilar with ATC's here is a description:

"Artist Trading Cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art about the same size as modern baseball cards,[1] or 2 ½ X 3 ½ inches (63 mm X 89 mm),[2] small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets.[3] The ATC movement developed out of the mail art movement and has its origins in Switzerland.[4] Cards are produced in various media, including dry media (pencils, pens, markers, etc.), wet media (watercolor, acrylic paints, etc.), paper media (in the form of collage, papercuts, found objects, etc.) or even metals. The cards are usually traded or exchanged rather than sold."

I created two different cards using 2 of my favorite QKD stamps, Bodice and Gothic Necklace.  Both ATC bases are PTI Vintage Cream cardstock followed by SU! Designer Paper.

Both are stamped with Momento ink and colored with my Copics and Sparkly Sakura Gel pens.  My necklace ATC is coated with my Quickie Glue pen and covered with black Doodlebug sparkles.  It is trimmed out and popped up on 3-D foam adhesive.  I added a strip of metal pearls along the bottom.

The Bodice ATC is colored, trimmed out, embellished with tiny rhinestones.  I then popped it up on 3-D foam adhesive and I gave it a tiny ribbon belt.  I used a scrapbook sticker that says Lucky Lady for the left hand side.

I hope you have enjoyed my tiny works of art!!  Please continue hopping onto the WIS blog where you will get to see my darling Wynneth's amazing work with Maigan Lynn's stunning mermaids!!

Till next week!

XOXO

In a very bold attempt, I signed up for one of Taylor's A muse ATC swaps. It's my first one *ever* and I truly hope that my work holds up to everyone else's. I struggled with this as I wanted to make sure that I did a good job! Thankfully they're not due to be postmarked until this coming Friday so I've got a little time to play if I decide that my Hula Girl needs something a bit *more*.

Cardstock: SU! Old Olive, Basic Grey DP - Stella Ruby; Lady Kate's Roses, Stemma Brand DP; Foxy Foliage
Stamps: A muse Hula Girl and Beautiful Day
