Simply Betty Challenge #5 - Sketch It!

Helloooooo Everyone!!  Welcome back to our fabulous weekly challenges!!!  This week we're putting forth a sketch challenge created by our own darling Graphicat!!!  It's super fab and so fun!!!

Here is the sketch:

Super cool, right???

Well...here's my interpretation!!!  I know that we've been focusing a lot on the not too distant Christmas holiday but I'm trying to remain a little more close to the Fall and enjoying the Harvest time and all that it has to offer.  Crisp weather, fabulous apples, awesome leafy walks, and beautiful winds.  So with that I was drawn to the Jude images for Thanksgiving!!

I used Thanksgiving Lizzie and Thanksgiving Mikey.  I did LOTS of paper piecing and coloring with my Copics and Prismacolor markers.  I trimmed them both out and set them aside so I could work on my background.

Like lots of other crafters I'm TRYING not to purchase anything new in terms of holiday be it for Thanksgiving or Christmas until I DESPERATELY need it.  I have SO many large scraps from holiday's past that I'm committed to using them up as much as possible!!!

So what you're seeing are scraps from my various bins and boxes mounted to white cardstock to make the colors of the Fall really jump.

I used my Cricut to cut the center circle and scallop.  I stamped "Celebrate Today" from PTI in the center and sponged (my newest favorite technique if you couldn't tell! lol) around the edges.  I tucked that piece in the middle and popped Mikey up on dots and Lizzie is nestled in nicely on top of my stripey ribbon that's tied in a knot at the bottom.

I moved the embellishments to the top as I ran out of room for where they are supposed to be at the lower left hand corner.  But hey...sketches are all about artistic interpretation, right?  ;)

I hope you enjoy and have been inspired to play along with us at the SBS Challenge blog!!!
