MFT Weekly Stamp Club - Happy Birthday!

Do you know why I love Wednesdays so much?  It's because it's another fabulous week of My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club!!  And am I ever SOOOOOOOOOO excited to be here designing along side the amazing group of women that is the MFT Design Team!  It's a true honor and privilege.  This week's sketch - as they all are - is fantastic, simple and crisp!  

I needed a birthday card for my dear friend to give to her husband for his upcoming birthday so I went clean, masculine and earthy with my creation.

I've used all papers by Basic Grey - Oxford line and SU! solid cardstock.  I used the newly released Finishing Flourishes and Vertical Greetings Die and Stamp Set both inside and out.  I first stamped the beautiful flourishes in SU! Crumb Cake ink and my sentiment in Cherry Cobbler which I heat set with clear embossing powder.  In lieu of a straight banner I cut a banner out of my Night of Navy cardstock and crumpled it a bit with my fingers making the paper softer.  I then very haphazardly fan folded the banner back and forth crumpling more as I went.  I then held it together with my fingers and zipped it through my sewing machine for a bit of zig zag stitching.  I anchored the corners with some navy self adhesive pearls.  

My interior houses the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Finishing Flourishes set (if you have not yet picked this up I HIGHLY recommend it...I've used it at least four times in the last two days!) in Cherry Cobbler.  

I, once again, used the Crumb Cake ink to add a couple of beautiful flourishes to my sentiment panel.  To extend the Vertical Greetings Die, I simply cut it in half in the back and extended the edges out a bit for a layered look.
