TAWS Post #5

Greetings Crafty Friends!

Thanks for popping by today to check out my TAWS creation for today!  I've used the new Cake Day  set which is perfect for any birthday or other celebration with it's fun mix of sentiments, cupcake and cake images and balloons.  So super cute!

Today I've chosen a palette of grey and coral to pull together this fun birthday card that I gave to a dear friend's little girl for her 2nd birthday in December.  (hence the 2 candles!)  Her name begins with "L" so I trimmed the letter L out of some patterned paper I had and tucked it into the grouping of elements.  The sentiments that are designed to go with this set nestle perfectly together in a funky arrangement making the display extra fun!

I trimmed a 2.5" circle with a circle punch out of my front most layer, which is watercolor paper.  I stamped the heart banner again and again using my Distress Inks and then used my Wink of Stella pen to pull the color in slightly giving the hearts a very slight watercolor look.  It also adds wonderfully subtle shine.

I colored the cupcake and candles with my Copics and then coated them with my Wink of Stella glitter pen.  I scattered some puffy heart stickers and a little gem here and there for some added texture and dimension.
