Tiddly Inks Challenge #11 - Red, White and Blue

Happy 4th everyone!!! I do hope that you have something fantastic planned for this lovely day!!!

I'm thrilled to be able to play along with the fab gals at TI this week!! This week's challenge was red, white and blue!!

I've been itching to play with Royal Proclamation for a long time now!! So I went with a rather "snarky" card using the sentiment "All Ways Here Are My Ways" from QKD. Fitting, I thought!
My card base is basic black cardstock. My next layer is a pale blue cardstock that I edged in Real Red ink from SU! and Charcoal Grey chalk ink from Colorbox. I then did the same to the blue and white polka dotted SU! DP. My last layer is a red/black DP that is textured and has a sheen to it. I ran my Tim Holtz distressing ink in China Blue over the entire piece, coated it with clear embossing powder and heat set it.
Our dear "queen" is colored with my Copics (in red, white and blue - how very super-hero"esque" and gold paint pen. I then used my Versamarker and coated her hair and heat embossed it to give it a super shine.
I wanted to have some festivity to it for the holiday so, using my SU! star punch, I cut stars out of the assorted DP selection that I had used and nestled them snuggly together on the right hand side of the card under the second layer.
I then used a wide zig zag stitch around the entire perimeter of the card for added visual interest. I added assorted red and silver pearls to the stars.
I stamped my sentiment in SU! Real Red and punched it out using my SU! 1 1/2" circle punch. I adhered both the queen and my sentiment on 3-D foam adhesive.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend and please come along and please come along and play!!!

XOXO-
Meredith
