OTWC #38 and Stretch N Bubbles Creative Chick Challenge #29!!

I'm here today with a card for two different challenges!!!  I felt like doing something 'just for fun' today.  Not that my normal creating isn't ALWAYS fun but sometimes it's nice to bounce outside of your parameters, assignments, challenges, etc and just play.

So I am here to bring you my card for both the most recent OTWC #38 AND the most recent Stretch N Bubbles challenges.

For OTWC we were issued a color challenge:

based on this gorgeous photo:

The most lovey Alison at Stretch N Bubbles put forth this amazing image this week which reminded me of the bottom image of trees in Darling Kim's photo above.

Here is the image from SNB as part of this week's challenge:
Here is my creation blending these two FANTASTIC challenges:
My card base measures 6"X4".  I printed my SNB image out and colored it with my Copic and Prismacolor markers and white gel pen.  I sponged the paper in and around it with my Tim Holtz inks.  I then trimmed it out and set it aside.
I had a blast choosing all different designer papers from my ridiculously huge stash of holiday papers.  I chose four different kinds, trimmed them out to the size I needed, backed them with white cardstock that had been sponged with more Tim Holtz ink and stitched together.
I also used a piece of one of the four designer papers as my layer over the card base.  That, too, was stitched on.  I used bright green thread for all of my stitching.
I made my own layered, flowery embellishment by taking a raw chipboard, scallop flower and covering it in hot pink Colorbox ink and heat embossing it.  I then punched out a scallop circle out of my ever dwindling supply of "ouchless cardboard" from Gauche Alchemy.  Followed by a felt flower and then a brad.  It all snugged together just nicely!!

As some lasting touches I added 5 copper brads along the bottom and used white, linen twine from The Paper Source to tie around each tree trunk and two, sparkly gorgeous stickpins in my American Crafts ribbon - that just happened to be the perfect colors for this challenge that is tied into a neat bow in the top left corner.

I have to say that I truly LOVE how this turned out!!  I will be submitting this for both challenges.

I hope you enjoy and have been inspired!!

Many Crafty Hugs!
Meredith
