12 Days of Smeared Ink Christmas! Day One!

Good Morning everyone!!  I'm so thrilled to be here with you all to celebrate the 12 Days of Christmas!!!

Today I have used one of my favorite (who am I kidding, they are all my favorite) sets Holy City.  I wanted something simple, snowy looking and holiday-esque.  I started with a base of a sort of Putty color/Greyish/Taupe-ish cardstock measuring at 5x5.
My main layer begins with chocolate cardstock, followed by a deep red on which I stamped the iron gate from Holy City in Pure White Brilliance Pearlescent ink which was then heat embossed.  I zig zag stitched each side in ivory thread.
I then added a pre-cut die cut border strip to add underneath my main panel.  I then stamped the steeple and tree image, colored with my Copics and added it as another piece of the main layer.
I then added my taupe birdie ribbon to finish it off and as a final touch I used my white ink pad all over the top portion of the card,  heat set it to make it look like a snowy/grey day.
I hope you enjoy and have been inspired!!  Please hop along, leave love on each blog for a chance to win the FANTASTIC prize!!!

Stunning! First look I thought that was texture paper until I read that it was the gate, awesome! Love how you added the white for a wintery look :)
