QKD Royal Court Crop - Sketch Challenge No. 3

Hey Everyone!! Woosh was it a busy weekend!!! Our Queen Vicki really had us movin'!! We had a great Royal Crop and everyone made super fabulous projects!! Here is my final post on my last challenge!! YAY!! I did them all!! WOO HOO ME!!! =)

Anyway - enough tooting of my own horn...

Below is the final sketch that we were given and our colors were PINK, LIME GREEN AND TURQUOISE. Really...so NOT my colors. Which is why this was a great challenge for me!!! I'm also not so much into the paper tearing technique...I've actually never done it before so another reason why this was a great challenge!!

Here is what I came up with!! I started with SU! Green Galore (cause really...what else do I ever use this color for!!) I cut the paper at 9" and scored at 3" and 6" to create my folding 'doors'. I then cut a slice of this brandie new DP that I picked up at Michael's last week. It's from Recollections - Rockets 'n' Sprockets and used it as my background.
I then stamped my image which are these ADORABLE aliens!! I've had this set for a while and have yet a calling to ink them up but now was my chance!! I inked them in Brilliance Pigment Ink in Pearlescent Lime and heat embossed them. I colored them in with my Copics and gold paint pen and trimmed them out. I made the frame out of SU! Pretty in Pink using my Cricut - Accent Cartridge. I stitched a straight stitch in turquoise thread around the perimeter for a little extra pop.
I then set to tearing the 'doors' just at random. I then used my stash of Stacy Claire Boyd paper to adorn the outside of the doors. I then ran my SU! Green Galore pad over the edges of the torn paper.
I stamped my sentiment Sweet Memories in black and then traced over it with my gold paint pen. I used a jumbo piece of turquoise grosgrain ribbon threaded through a large square bookplate to hold it all in place with a fluffy bow!

I hope you enjoy my last creation!!!

Thanks for visiting!!

XOXO
