QKD Wicked Weekly Blog Hop!

Happy Hopping Tuesday Y'all!

Today I'm here with my awesome team from QKD with a sketch hop!  You all know I love these!!

You should have arrived here from my darling friend Alex's gorgeous blog and you just happened upon here please start at the beginning of this hop so that you get to see everyone's fabulous works!!

Today I chose to use one of QKD's newest images Wicked.   What I love about it is that it is PERFECT for Halloween yet usable completely year round!

Here is the sketch that we used:

My interpretation of it starts with a card base of PTI's enchanted evening.  It was my New Year's resolution to use scrap before using new in my studio so I scoped out my desk first.  I found two awesome and complimentary slices of DP.  I cut them down and set to coloring my image.  Which for those of you who have been following, I colored with my colored pencils!!  I totally {heart} my Copics but I recently felt a need for using the medium of my Berols and Prismacolors that I've had to close to 20 years.  Colored pencil was always a puzzling medium for me.  But I'm getting the hang of it.

Anyway - I colored my image with my colored pencils, using a rubbing technique to blur the lines and give some nice depth and shadow.

I used 3 simple rhinestone embellishments and felt that the card looked quiet and elegant yet punchy enough to be very happy with the way it came out!!

Please continue hopping onto the WIS blog where you will get to see my darling Wynneth's amazing work with Maigan Lynn's stunning mermaids!!

See you next week or come visit my work on the DIS tomorrow!!!

XOXO
Meredith
