Smeared Ink Blog Hop!

Welcome everyone to another FANTABULOUS Smeared Ink blog hop!!  Today's theme was ORANGE!!  It had to be used somewhere in the project.

So here's what I've got for you!!

My card base is DP from a DCWV mat stack.  My next layer is PTI chocolate cardstock followed by a layer of older SU! DP, followed lastly by a slice of Crate Paper DP.

Our gorgeous Bird Nymph is stamped using Momento ink in Tuxedo Black (what else would I use??) =) directly onto a scrap of tetxtured, cream colored cardstock twice.

She is colored with my new Prismacolor pencils and then fiercely blended with a tissues.  I colored both sets of wings in the same brilliant, purple, raspberry color.  I also colored the feathers that cross her mid-section in a brilliant turquoise color.  I trimmed the extra set of wings and belly feathers out and adhered them to my main image.

I then stamped her dress onto tracing paper, shaded it in with one of my many delicious orange colored pencils and then adhered to this gorgeous woman.  I then did some more shading and when I was happy, I coated the dress with Diamond Glaze and set her aside to dry.
Once she was dry (didn't take more than an hour or so) I was able to adhere my main image to my card.  I then stamped out the French Provincial style frame onto the same tissue paper and colored with my pencils.  I then stamped the Nymph definition onto the same cream stock, trimmed it out and placed it appropriately in its frame.

My embellishments are minimal but definitely add a pop.  I added 2 staples (they are dark orange...hard to tell in the photos) to the folded top left corners, 3 copper colored brads to define the upper corner, 2 puzzle pieces in similar hues as lastly a cool postal stamp embellishment that also pulls in all of the colors that I chose.
