Happy Birthday to my darling sweet girl!!

So...with all of the insanity (good!) in my life lately...I am a day delayed in posting the card that I made for my Darling Daughter for her 6th birthday which was yesterday.

My girl is sweet, silly, a little sassy sometimes.  Her style is punky (as in Brewster), mix and match, ribbons and bows and beads, mismatched socks and sparkly shoes.

I wanted the card to directly reflect everything that she loves and that I love about her.  So I of COURSE went straight for Tiddly Inks Image Rock N Rolla girl!

I printed her out twice, once on white stock and once again on pink (one of Kendall's favorite colors!)  I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils, Copic and Prismacolor markers.  I then paper pieced her skirt, adding black and hot pink glitter.

I trimmed her out and set her aside to dry.
I then started on my card base.  It measures 6x6.  My first background layer is a foil pink paper that I distressed with chocolate ink.  After that I went with the same paper that I created our girl's skirt in and created a large scallop to go along the bottom.  I then had some flowery scrap left over that I ink distressed and added as another layer sort of in the upper middle of my background.  I then tied two bows using PTI ribbon (ties so well!!) and then I tied another bow on each ribbon with gold, sparkly gimp!  I added 3 crocheted butterflies that were given to me by a Smeared Ink teammate a long time ago (my daughter loves all things nature inspired!)

My external sentiment panel is on white cardstock, stamped multiple times with the word 'giggle' from an older SU! sentiment pack, I edged distressed the stock and added the #6 with a transparent sticker.  It was then time to add our beautiful roller skating girl which I adhered with 3-D foam adhesive.

My interior is cut from white cardstock and stamped with the words "Be Yourself" - which is all I ever want for my children.

She opened this and gasped...and brought it to school for show and tell on her birthday day.

I'm a blessed and happy Mummy.

Happy Birthday Sweet Angel!!

XOXOXO

Awwwww, so sweet! Both the card and the story. :)
That is the reaction every mom wants...:)

And I love the sentiment...I am going to borrow it for one of my cards because it is exactly what i want for mine and for me. :)

You are definitely a treasure all in and of yourself. :)
