Hop For A Cause - Inking Pink!

Greetings Everyone!!  Today is the day it starts!!!  The first annual Inking Pink Blog Hop!!

I'm so lucky to be on the SBS team with Patricia who has put her heart and soul into bringing this amazing hop together.  Along the way you will find some SERIOUSLY fabulous blog candy (here as well!) and some simply gorgeous creations.  I know you will be so kind and leave lots of love!!

For my blog candy I am offering up a STUNNING turquoise, pink, white and chartreuse Lily Pulitzer silk scarf as well as a variety of pink craft supplies!!!  When the hop ends, I will be picking a winner at random using random.org to send my goodies out to.

My creation today is a 6x6 card starting with a pink (what else?  ;) card base.  I then used a slice of Basic Grey flowery DP as my next layer that I had in advance stitched twice around the edges with ivory thread.

I then chose this yummy Hambly screen printed paper (the dress forms) and mounted that to a slice of SU! Pure Pomegranate.  I used black thread to stitch the two together to add visual interest.

My main image is from Christy Croll's Tiddly Inks 'Dare To Be Aware' set.  I colored Christy's gorgeous woman along with the Awareness Ribbon in with my Copic markers and carefully trimmed them out.

I adhered her to a piece of shimmery ivory cardstock from The Paper Company (purchased at ACM) and stitched the perimeter with black thread.  It seemed a bit 'empty' so I used an old SU! sentiment stamp that says 'from the heart' and I added the Ribbon in the lower left corner of my main panel.

Before adding my main panel to the card I tied a pink ribbon using PTI grosgrain ribbon (THE BEST) first so that there would be balance to the entire creation.

I added my main layer using foam adhesive.  My interior is quiet with a scrap of the Basic Grey DP with matching Basic Grey letters with the simple word of 'hope'.

Before I sign off and you hop to the next amazing blog I also wanted to share with you what my six year old daughter created along with me for this event.  I carefully explained to her what I was doing and why I was doing it.  She loves all forms of art (particular to Christy's designs) but she loves art in any form and was thrilled that I printed her this image on fabulous PTI cardstock and allowed her to use my Copics to create.

Thank you for joining me as well as my fellow artists, designers, women, and survivors in this amazing event.

Please head to the fabulous Nicole's blog to see what gorgeousness she's created today!!!

Crafty Hugs -

Meredith

Our paper crafting community spans the globe and brings all of us together under a common roof. Join me, and 24 other talented women for our first:

Blog Hop for Awareness that has been creatively titled:

"Inking Pink"

Many of us have family or friends that have been affected by breast cancer and all of us want to encourage all of you to check yourself! For my friend Patricia and her fellow team members at The Beary Scrap DT, they have recently found out that one of their dearest friends and alumni team mates has Breast Cancer. In her honor, we are "hopping" in hopes of helping to spread awareness throughout the world.

The hop will start October 26 HERE

From here you will be guided on a journey around the world to visit all the talented artists participating in this amazing event. Some of your fellow crafters along the hop are even offering blog candy! Please be sure to give a little comment of love to each and every crafter along the way.

The hop will run through October 31 to give all of you enough time to "hop" around and visit each blog.

We all hope you will join us in our hop, and most of all we all want YOU to give yourself the greatest gift and do a self-check. The more you do it, the more breast aware you will be!

Thank you for joining me and all the other ladies and I hope to make this a huge success!!

The following is a list of the beautiful ladies on the hop.
